TLDR
CHI: 47.5 (Fragile). +5.01 vs August’s 42.49
Most of that rise is the season finally having a proper sample, not a big step forward.
Good: clearer shape in games, chance volume, early signs of integration.
Concern: mood around the squad and injuries mounting.

What changed this month
United look more like a team with a plan. The sample is cleaner now that we have a run of matches. New signings and a couple of U23s are seeing real minutes, which helps the medium-term picture. That is where most of the lift comes from.
Scorecard

Positive = improvement. Negative = reduction. Weights: Feel 40, Availability 18, Form 16, Integration 10, Previous Season 8, Finance 8. Net +5.01 → CHI 47.5.
Where it’s still soft
Two things hold the score down. Availability: return timelines nudged longer and there’s an extra starter out. Feel: cohesion and leadership read lower than preseason; tactical understanding is steady, but the overall mood isn’t where it needs to be.
What it means right now
47.5 = Fragile on the CHI ladder (40–49.9). We’re 2.5 points shy of Inconsistent (50–59.9). One good month can tip this, but only if availability improves and the mood around the squad stabilizes.
How to read CHI
80–100 Healthy & aligned
70–79.9 Strong & stable
60–69.9 Manageable issues
50–59.9 Inconsistent
40–49.9 Fragile (United now: 47.5)
30–39.9 Turbulent
0–29.9 Crisis
October to-dos
Hold the performance level from the last couple of matches. Keep the xG difference and continue to rack up points.
Get bodies back and keep the missing-starters count low. Shorter return timelines will move this score.
Keep bedding in the new faces. Give the signings and one or two U23s meaningful minutes so the squad settles.
CHI is a monthly 0–100 read on club health. Early-season bumps often come from the model filling a proper sample, not just improvement.
